
Match Claremont
Match Claremont is an online matching system brought to students at the five Claremont Colleges during their time of quarantine amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. After packing up all their belongings and leaving campus, students resumed classes online and resorted to connecting with their friends via Zoom. Still, the sense of community and liveliness present on campus was lacking and greatly missed. Enter: Match Claremont.
Created by and for college students, Match Claremont is an online form designed to pair a 5C student with their perfect romantic or platonic match. From incorporating specialized questions catered to 5C culture to sharing compelling statistics of student responses, Match Claremont reignites a sense of community, platonic & romantic love during a time of isolation.

Ideation / Moodboard
For our inspiration for the visual identity, we wanted to allude to retro gaming aesthetics and digital interfaces, but with a more modern feel that would appeal to our audience of nineteen to twenty-something year olds.
While the Match Claremont team wanted the design to be applicable to the colleges, it was challenging to find a cohesive symbol given the different mascots, colors, and logos. The consortium's joint color is considered purple, though it is not used very widely. Ultimately, we decided to steer away from trying to encapsulate all the schools’ individual personas, instead creating a look that would capture the hearts of some self-isolating students.
