Kulturnatten 2020
Kulturnatten (Culture Night) is an annual, one-night event that opens up the municipalities of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg for a lively six hours showcasing its best events and opportunities. The participating organizations range from museums, galleries, churches, historical sites, libraries, and more. There is something for everyone at Culture Night, making it Copenhagen’s largest single-day event. Each year there is a new design created for the visual identity of Culture Night. This project imagines the 2020 visual identity for Kulturnatten, including the main posters for the event, the badges, a banner, sales sign, and an Instagram animation.

My design for the 2020 Kulturnatten visual identity is inspired by the adventurous and often unpredictable experiences that a board game encourages, much like the nature of Culture Night. Playing a board game provokes feelings of wonder, sometimes confusion, but always excitement, which Culture Night guests experience each year. My design seeks to reflect these emotions in order to develop a comprehensive visual identity for the unique annual event of Kulturnatten.

3 Poster Concept
After developing my concept, I wanted to take my design a step further by creating variations of the poster that are able to interact with each other. Each of the three posters are distinct, yet they can be put together and rearranged for a larger, more complex board game visual. This aspect of the design reflects each participants unique journey throughout Culture Night and the different paths they may take.
